The 2021 International Summer University in Social Work (ISUSW 2021) with the theme of "Online Social Work: Practice and Practitioners" will be hosted by the School of Philosophy and Social Development at Shandong University from July 12-21. The participants of 50 faculty memers and students come from 8 social work Schools/Departments, including the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland, University of California Los Angeles, University of British Columbia，Rajagiri college of Social Sciences, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Western Sydney University, Shandong University, Chinese University of Hong Kong and Tunghai University.

In the afternoon of July 6th, the SDU work team held the preview of the opening ceremony of ISUSW in the school lecture hall of Zhixin Building. The team members included Professor Gao Jianguo, technician Wang Bo, and four MSW volunteers. School leaders, Party Secretary Zheng Qian, Vice Dean and Professor Chen Jian, Vice Dean and Professor Cheng Shengli, came to give on-site guidance.

The work team had made detailed designs on the schedule and learning content in advance and had repeatedly communicated with ISUSW Consortium partners on teaching methods, software tools , and learning tools.

In the lecture hall, the work team rehearsed according to the opening ceremony agenda, and showed the English version of the ISUSW website. The team also checked the online documents, learning manual, the background color and effects, camera position and voice effect. Meanwhile, the team focused on testing the meeting function of the Microsoft team tool, and discussed the issue of camera switching. To test the video effect, an online meeting was conducted with Prof. Sek-yum NGAI from Chinese University of Hong Kong. All aspects of the effect is good.

The School and team will continue to optimize the organization process and improve the application technology to prepare for ISUSW 2021.
